mummy's day

Mummy day's today, started the day off with lunch at carousel in royal plaza on scotts at orchard. daddy and I decided to treat her something nice :) freaking expensive though, our bill came up to around more or less 200 bucks for just the three of us. (The two bros are treating her dinner while I'm at church) As nice as the food is, it's too expensive for a now poor student like me :x feeling the pinch now that I am not working monthly.

Mummy was forcing me to eat spicy food just to make her feel happy =.='''' I never ever touched the curry that she cooked, or the spicy dishes that she would cook on normal days... but on mother's day... I ate it, and immediately I think it's insane to agree in the first place. Gulped down half of my water bottle :x

After that I gave her the carnations. side fact: carnations, when wither, they don't fall to the ground. Instead, it would curl towards the bud of the flower in order to ensure that the baby bud is safe. That is why carnations petals can never be seen on the floor (unless you are damn boliao to pluck it off then I really got nothing to say). This is  to signify mother's love for the child. No matter what, the mother would do anything, even to the point of risking her life, just to save the child, all because of love. That's how great mum's love is.

bought her a cake after service as well as a hand-written card at the end of the day. Hope that she really liked it. :) Though she was nagging incessantly about the flowers being expensive etc etc etc, and how I should save the money for lunch and just go celebrate at cheaper places.... it's not about how much I spend, but about how I would rather use the money to spend it on someone I love so much.

Though my mum likes/loves to nag, but without her home cooked meals, strict discipline, unconditional love and being such a good role model as a mother and wife(actually more like a naggy older sister), giving me advices and encouragement when I needed it most. The one who would listen to me rant on and on about the exam stress that I am facing, the guy(s) that i'm currently dating right now(and nope I'm still single, dating is fine, no strings attached :P), latest fashion trends... can't believe her taste is better than mine =.='''. Without her, I won't be who I am today. She is one of the most important people in my life who moulded me :) And I thank God for placing her as my mum.

Mother's day shouldn't just be that 1 day out of the 365 days, it should be a everyday thing. It's easy to say, but how often do we really know what our mum's likes and dislikes? I hate how some people these days only treat their mum well only for that 1 day and the rest of the days taking her for granted. show concern to ur mum, buy her some snack or food, ask about her day at work, and really listen. Asking without listening is like giving a slap and expecting it to be painless. Go out together, bake, shop etc. oh man, just love her already :P hehehe!
